Contemporary Kitchen

One of the standard questions I always ask homeowners about renovations is, “why did you decide to do this?”  The answers are usually pretty standard, the family grew, the space wasn’t working for them anymore, they’d always wanted to do it, etc. etc.  In this story, that question took me to the impetus for a major kitchen makeover which takes the form of a portable dishwasher.  We had one in the house I grew up in and now I can see why getting rid of it may have led to a story like this. Appears in the October/November issue of Chesapeake Home Magazine – not a cover story but nicely shot by Kenneth Wyner.  I actually forgot I wrote this till it showed up in my mailbox – which is always a fun surprise.  Here’s the piece:
