Green Vineyard

By keeping in touch with people I’ve written about I’m often led to new projects, including a Maryland winery with a straw bale tasting room.  In this kind of construction, bales of straw are stacked to form walls and then covered over with a layer of stucco.  In this case, the person I’ve written about before is Sigi Koko, the local queen of straw bale.  A few months ago, Sigi sent me some pictures from this project and I pitched it to DC Magazine, knowing the editor there likes “green” stories. Hey, who doesn’t?  I hear the wine isn’t bad, either.  Here’s the story…
